Mitigating Ammonia Volatilization without Compromising Yield and Quality of Rice through the Application of Controlled-Release, Phosphorus-Blended Fertilizers

Ammonia (NH3) volatilization from paddy fields is a major issue which leads to poor fertilizer use efficiency and considered severe threat the atmosphere. The previous research studies gave importance of nitrogen fertilizers mitigate NH3 volatilization, while very little emphasis was given role other fertilizers, such as phosphorus (P), for alleviation in rice fields. Considering P herein, we conducted two consecutive field experiments using an innovative, controlled-release, phosphorus-blended (CRPBF, with levels CRP0, CRP1, CRP2). We compared CP0 (in no applied), CP1 (112.5 kg ha−1 locally recommended fertilizers), CP2: (P K blended fertilizers) determine best possible way reduce without affecting yield quality rice. results study suggested that increased significantly application CRP1 (11.11 t ha−1) CRP2 (11.99 ha−1). addition also enhanced yield-related components, i.e., panicle weight, total spikelets per unit area, panicle, above-ground biomass. CRP0 showed lower related components when CP2. demonstrated protein contents treatments. CRPBF improved starch content taste scores, reduced chalkiness grain during both years. decreasing trend amendments by improving traits treatments: CRP2, 45%, 35%, 15%, respectively. this indicate that, due episodic nature CRPBFs 50% 100% can markedly compromising crop, could be promising alternative ordinary commercial used
